TSC Ep 34 - Small Group Planning Tips

Season 3 Episode 34

We’re still over here talking about thing we spend too much time on as teachers, and I’m back with a new episode this week!

So far, we’ve talked about grading and parent communication.

If you missed either of those emails, just reply to me here and I’ll send you the link to either podcast episode!

This week, I want to talk to you about small group time. This is a doozy of a subject, because there are so many moving parts. You need to form the groups using data, move the groups around as your students need to change their focus, have things for your students to do around the room, keep them calm and quiet while basically ignoring them for an hour…it’s a LOT.

And all of this planning and prep has to be done in the midst of your regular teaching. There’s still curriculum to teach and whole group lessons to plan for multiple subjects.

It’s so much.

In the episode today, I have my most tried and true tips for simplifying this time! If your small group block makes you crazy, or always feels like one more thing to figure out that you don’t have time for, I have some tips this week that will really take a lot off of your plate. ❤️
